How to Create “Inner” Bliss & NEVER be DE-Railed Again…

We can’t hope to have optimal physical health if we neglect our “inner” wellbeing!

I know this to be true for myself, I’ve seen it to be true for every family I’ve ever worked with and I’m sure you know this on some level yourself.

I believe it might even be true that our “inner” health is MORE important and that our outer experience is simply a reflection of this!

My career mission is to empower mums with self belief and the tools to expand self awareness to fully realise their unlimited potential and BE the women we are born to be…From this space we can live by example and gift our children the life skills they need to live fulfilling, satisfying and successful lives.

But let’s face it, being a mum is an intense journey of personal lessons and so few of us are equipped with the tools we need to tackle life.

We find ourselves stressed, overwhelmed, rushed, angry, judgemental, judged, struggling to stay connected with our partners, irritated, living on the edge, grumpy, PMSy, exhausted, yelling at the kids, sleeping badly, generally feeling like life SURELY isn’t meant to be like this!

Well life isn’t meant to be a massive struggle. Sure the stuff of life will always happen but when we are in charge of our reactions, the WHOLE stress that we feel everyday dissipates and we seriously STOP sweating the small stuff. Even the big stuff just is as it is and we gain a different perspective that continues to transform our experiences.

As a Transpersonal Counselor, Certified Life Coach and Jack Canfield Success Principles Trainer, the tools that I’ve brought into my practice are designed to allow personal healing, transformation and self-actualisation to unfold organically with a range of practices including meditation, visualisation, guided imagery, journal work, shadow work and so much more.

“Transpersonal psychology is concerned with the study of humanity’s highest potential, and with the recognition, understanding, and realization of unitive, spiritual, and transcendent states of consciousness” [Denise Lajoie and Sam Shapiro, Definitions of Transpersonal Psychology: The First Twenty-Three Years (1992)].

For today, I’d like to delve a little into meditation as a tool ANY mum can use to begin the “inner” journey into heightened personal awareness and begin to transform the “blah” into “bliss”.

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind to encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things.

Through meditation practice we can learn the patterns and habits of our mind, which provides an opportunity to cultivate new, more positive and empowering ways of being.

With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energised states of mind. These experiences have a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.

With meditation, a little effort reaps BIG rewards and it can be adapted to suit an individual’s needs.

If you’ve got just a few minutes, you can create a daily practice. Science has shown that our stress responses and our brain are beneficially impacted and the physical benefits are profound at any level.

With stress considered to be the biggest health threat of the future, NOW is a great time to start the “inner” work that will secure our own health.

Another incentive may well come in the understanding that our children learn what they live. They inherit our flaws, physical and emotional, do you really want them dealing with the baggage you are potentially creating for them?

So give yourself and your family the gift of a few minutes every day. All you need to do is to find a quiet space, close your eyes, breathe in and out, notice your breath and keep bringing your wandering mind back to your breath. You can do this inside or outside, it’s really just an opportunity to be present in the moment and the more present moment inspiration you can glean from your surroundings the better. You can even use a personal “declaration/mantra” and whilst you are breathing you can say silently to yourself something like “all is well in my world right now”…

Why not use the meditation below as your daily tool for “Inner Bliss”. You may well see the benefits the very day you begin. Undoubtedly you will find yourself more able to connect to your “inner” peace quicker after only a few days with MORE benefits seen over time.
